This well known manufacturing company is looking for an experienced Credit Controller to operate an efficient credit control function to limit losses and reduce cost of customer credit. This role is to initially provide cover for a 12 month+ maternity cover however there could be an opportunity for a permanent role.
Hours of Work: Days – 8:50 to 5:30 Mon - Thurs
8.50 to 3.45 Fri
Principal Accountabilities:
• To carry out all regular sales ledger functions including invoice runs and cash allocation.
• Work with customers to resolve invoice queries and raise debit/credit notes as needed.
• Control sales ledger balance using established credit control procedures.
• Assess new customer applications based on credit reference agency reports and trade references etc. plus maintain accurate and up to date customer files re checking credit status as needed.
• Carry out month end procedures including statements/reports/ reconciliations and analysis.
Key Skills:
Minimum 2 years experience in a credit control role – essential.
Experience in use of Excel and Word essential
Good communication skills, commitment to quality, attention to detail and a confident telephone manner are essential, as is an ability to manage own time in an effective manner.
Experience in the use of JBA (AS 400 based financial systems) is an advantage.
An ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines is essential.
All credit control procedures are based on one to one personal contact with the client; they do not use any general mass generated letters, so effective communications skills are critical to maintaining the business.
