The Role
In this role you will be building partnerships with schools, the Local Authority, other
organisations and the wider community, to reduce the reliance on the private car for journeys
to and from school.
You will play a crucial role in achieving this and in inspiring and enabling schools to implement
their plans.
Much of this work is targeted directly at schools, the wider education sector and
communities.
Responsibilities
Co-ordinating the School Travel Plan process, ensuring that all deadlines are met and targets
are progressed.
Liaising with colleagues in other departments where appropriate to achieve a joined up and
consistent approach.
Maintaining a detailed and up to date knowledge of transport issues and developments, both
nationally and locally.
Maintaining accurate and up to date data bases, and a high media profile
